FAQ
The questions everyone asks.
Is this just another email client?+
No. Shortwave, Superhuman, and Spark are smarter Gmail wrappers. They show you the same thread Gmail shows. We rebuild the thread so the conversation Gmail splits comes back as one. Different problem. Different fix.
What if your threading gets it wrong?+
Mark it incorrect from inside the thread view and the cluster reverts. We retrain weekly. The 30-day accuracy rate is published on the roadmap page so you can see it before you sign up.
Which email providers are supported?+
Gmail and Google Workspace are live today. Other providers are tracked on our public roadmap. Vote on what ships next.
Do you store my emails?+
We store metadata for every message and the full content of the last 90 days, encrypted at rest. Older messages are fetched on demand when you open a thread. Delete your account and everything is purged within 24 hours.
Can other people read my email?+
No. Row Level Security is enforced on every database query. OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted with a server-held key that never reaches your browser. We never share email content with affiliates or third parties.
What about AI?+
AI summaries and Q&A only run when you explicitly click them. Thread content is sent to OpenAI only at that moment. Per-user monthly caps prevent surprise bills. Auto-summarisation is disabled and will never be enabled.
Why two tiers instead of five?+
Five tiers is paralysis by choice. Pro covers solo founders and EAs. Scale removes every limit for the operator running 30+ inboxes. You know within 60 seconds which one you are. Multi-user team inboxes are deliberately out of scope in v1: each operator runs their own Scale plan.
What happens after the 7-day trial?+
We email you on day 4 as a reminder. On day 8 your card gets the first charge. Cancel anytime in one click from your dashboard. Cancel before day 8 and you're not charged at all.
Why require a card up-front?+
Trial signups without a card mostly don't finish setup, never use the product, and ghost. Requiring a card filters to people who are seriously evaluating the tool, which lets me build for them instead of fielding support for tire-kickers. Cancel takes one click. You're in control.
